CSA and disabled 19 year old

Hi can anyone help, my son is disabled, is 19 and in reciept of full disabled benefits in his own right that i claim for him, my ex says he no longer has to pay CSA , i say he does as son at a placement monday to friday (lives in funded by S S ) who is right please ? can never get through to CSA on phone to ask, obviously i no longer get Child benefit for my son . hope someone can give me the answer ??

Can I suggest you google uni rules...I don't know the answer but imagine they are the same from a legal point of view...Morally of course he should.

Your ex is legally right. You don't pay child maintenance for adults.

hi thanks all, he not at uni at a unit for Disabled people learning a level of life skills, he wont ever be able to live independantly sadly :( i was told if he is in education he still has to pay , but not sure as been googling but nothing coming up

As he is over 18 and technically has his own income then no. I don’t think he legally has to pay.

the more i google the more i get confused, he was 19 in august, has a plan in place and where he goes is an education provider , so i was told incorrectly ? as lose a lot of my carers allowence and will lose the CSA payments as well ?

Why will you lose carers? you can be carer for adults?

Maybe make an appointment for the CAB to see what you are actually entitled to
