Ok DD's GP's are coming over from Aus, only staying with us for 3 days (4 nights) in 4 weeks time and im stressing allready.
1/ do i ask how DD's dad is doing (ie getting his head around DD'd existance...at all?) if they dont bring it up?
2/ Can i get them a frmed picie of DD? i know they have pictures of all the other GC's but although i send them picies via email and i know they are around is it too much to have one framed... ie expect they put it up? was thinking of getting a nice photo of all three of them and sending it on?

I know its daft to worry as we get on great just the under currents are still very strong with their son with his head very deep in the sand.

help!

I can't comment on the first issue, not knowing the story behind it and having no experienec, But the idea of the group photo, framed sounds a lovely idea

I agree with Hula - obviously they care very much about their granddaughter or they wouldn't be coming so I bet they'd be thrilled with the kind of photo you're talking about.

AS far as her dad is concerned - certainly you're entitled to ask after him - but try to be casual. Sounds as if he has been a total tosser so far, but wait and see how they respond; if it sounds as if he is still a total tosser then let the subject go. They are probably not happy with him any more than you are so no point ruining a nice visit with anguish.

Ok the Gp's have finally told me they are arriving on the 14th... ahhh. now very scared i dont know how long they are staying yet, i know thay are booked in a hotel ( i booked it) in oxford on the 19th, but i have no more in for. In darent ask as it may have seemed that i was hinting about when are you going then? and it may have seemed rude? have decided to do the photo and send it on so it will be a nice surprise when they gat home. that way they dont have to feel obliged to look pleased? a touch of insecurity and paranioa slipping in now. To add to my stress the csa are just about to launch all guns blazing on their son. i have warned them, but i hope they really understand they whys and wherefores?
so hopefully all will go well....
