That's it really. He doesn't want to try and put things right. He is fed up with medioca family life. It should be passionate and exciting!

So what and how do we tell the kids. What reaction should we expect. He has worked away for 12 weeks on/off rotation so we are in a good routine. Although full expect upset and fall out understandably.

It depends on the age of the child. Is he planning to see them? how often..They need to know the stuff that affects them..Daddy still loves you but will be living .... He will still you........

I will answer any questions you have to the best of my ability. You don't need to lie to them but also they don't need the nitty grittty details.

Thank you for the reply. They are 10 and 5. Although eldest is asd. Think he will take it better than the youngest.

In my head we say we both love them and they haven't done anything wrong. Daddy and mummy don't want to live together anymore. And daddy will live somewhere else and see you lots. Just wish I knew how they will react. If they get upset it will take my everything not to breakdown too. I don't want this either.

We left due to my ex been abusive..He was under one when we left, however as he was older and realised. I told him I thought we would be happier living without Daddy..I didn't tell him we fled to a refuge.. I didn't blame his dad...Now he is older he knows I left to protect him but not all the details.

You know your own kids, I think it is ok for them to know you are sad about it too but also let them know we are going to move forward.
