I'm really struggling to find my feet again, how to have a life and be a mom , sometimes I feel it's just complicated and messy , by time iv thought about something and how to work it I just don't bother. Think I'm in a rut and suffering with depression

Get out the door and go for a run! It's amazing how it makes you feel and you get such a buzz! And it's free!! Running has saved my life - no exaggeration x

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad. How long have you been a single parent for?
It can be hard, and there is a lot to grieve for, like missing your children, having been treated badly, the social stigma, being lonely, fear for the future, and not living the life you had planned.
The relief of not being with your ex does not always compensate for all those points above.
I've been a single parent for 2 years now, and right now I'm feeling more down than ever. I think the initial burst of adrenaline has worn off, and my friends were supportive at the beginning, but now they've moved on and there's a massive difference between our lives which is something else I'm finding hard - I'm feeling totally left out.
I suppose I'm saying it can be hard and it can be bad - so maybe try and ride the feeling out, and wait until you turn a corner and feel good again. Now I can recognise when I start to feel bad, I burrow down with tv or a book and don't try to fight it. Or I just get out there because wallowing can make it worse.
I hope what I've said helps- I suppose what I'm saying is it sounds like you're normal and you will get through it xx
