Housing?!

I'm a single parent and my own parents seem to think that my ex is legally obligated to provide his child with a home?!

I've spent years trawling the internet to see what he should contribute and as he barely works my answer seems to be really not much at all. we have a private arrangement that he pays me some peanuts as maintenance.

I'm 99.9% sure that this is nonsense as if it were the case we'd all be living much easier lives but does anyone have any clue what they're on about?! Did it used to be a fact?!

His legal minimum contribution is the CMS calculation based on his income. Sadly this is it, no obligation to house his child as the NRP.

AS pp said..He is legally required to pay CMS set based on his income.

Thanks guys that's exactly what I told them but they were so sure I was wrong that I began to question myself! Shame though, a teeny tiny bit of me hoped he was going to have to buy me a house 😂
