moving from csa to cms

Have a few questions about cms, wondering if anyone can help?

Is it easy and quick to move from csa to cms?
When you call, what sort of questions are you asked? Do you need to give all the info about your ex again, or will they use the info from csa case?
how long does it take in general to get it sorted?

Just got a letter and my payment will end in January and I'm wondering whether to contact cms now or in a few months?

I have done it..

They do ask all the info again..I couldn't remember my EX's DOB.. The guy was able to get the info from CSA claim..

What they do say is until CSA claim is closed they can't contact ex.. I wanted to do direct payment but ..Ex had the chance to may direct payement.

I had a two month period with no maintenance last year 😢. IIRC it was because CSA was paid in advance but CMS is paid in arrears. How delighted I was to discover that last December.

I'm in the tiny minority who has had not problems with either arrangement despite zero contact with xp. I just told CMS we I had no contact details for him and he'd been a nightmare when we split up, they were happy with that and sorted it all out on their side.
