Ex wants access

Just looking for any info and help on the process.

Ex attacked me with 6 month old in the room. Not seen either of us for 8 moths. Shes 14 months now.

Tried to strangle me. Police came. Arrest, charged, no prison time.

Spent 9 years inside for importation of drugs. Other convictions afterwards (I was told by Cafcass, I didnt know about these) on and off for 7 years. I tried to help him after prison.

Now suddenly he wants access. Must have gone through CAB or something as form is filled out by someone else. May have had help with fees as hes on benefits. No job that I know of.

Uses cannabis and Cafcass have already said they dont want him near her and would want to do a Section 7 report.

I dont want him near her! But afraid he will get access and Ill have to hand my BF 14 month old over! Im so scared.

What am I likely to face? Im still researching around. So any advice or experience is welcomed.

Cafcass are on your side, take that as a positive.
Realistically, how likely do you feel it is that he would take you to court?
You hold the cards here and if he doesn't play the game, he loses out.

Thanks. He has sent the initial papers and we have a hearing end of July. I think it might have been spurred by jealousy, maybe hearing things on the grapevine that I am happy.

Thats good to know because he has never followed through on anything before. I would be happy to have contact with a good dad for my child, but he isnt unfortunately.

When mine was going to court CAFCASS officer said to me...She would make recommendations but it was rare for Judge to go against her recommendations.

My EX took me to court he thought I would back down when I didn't he withdrew... so didn't get to the court stage.

Surly it will just be supervised visits he wil get ? U can request it. Safety of ur child x
