CHILD TAX NOT BACKDATED

Hi,
Hoping someone can help me. My child was born on the 18/4/2017 and I put in my application for child tax two weeks ago and received £60 in my account today but no backdate?? I was under the impression I would get a lump sum backdate from atleast a month back. I've also been on income support since I was pregnant with him
Is this wrong or?

I think any backdate comes seperate, but also only applies back to when you applied.
