Overpaying child support

I won't go into the background but long story short my ex pays too much child support. He has no contact with our daughter and every month sends an extra £5. It's beginning to worry me. It might sounds ridiculous on its own but he isn't very nice and I think it's all part of the games he plays. Where do you stand on something like this? It's gonna take him 3 years to make up a whole month of money so I don't get why

Are you under the cms?

If so don't worry... the figure they give is the minimum he should pay each month. He can pay more but the over payment can't be "put to cover a month in the future" unless by prior agreement. It probably is part of a game... my ex plays lots of games... but there are no repercussions for you!

There's no such thing as 'too much' . He's paying over the bare legal minimum - that's great but no he can't later somehow claim it back

The CMS amount is a minimum. He's probably using the fact that he pays more than CMS for bragging purposes (it makes him seem like a great person)
