Dickhead changing contact plans

ExP has decided he wants to 'go away' so can't look after our DC this weekend while I work. It's been planned for ages.
Because I dared to say you can't just not look after them he's decided he won't have them tomorrow either (while I take DD1 to something- he'd agreed this last week).
I'm so angry!

Frustrating isn't it! I have this problem too. What gets me most is that my ex cancels whenever there's the option of a night out, does none of the hard, boring work involved in raising a child then thinks he has equal rights to all the pleasant bits of his son - birthdays etc.

He was only proposing last week how we're the love of his life etc etc now he says he has a new GF and is going on holiday with her and will introduce the kids.
