Am I wrong to be upset and hurt by this. Apparently she did this as my moods go from happy to angry very quickly when she does something wrong. I feel really hurt by this I have been very stressed recently due to a number of issues impacting our family and she knows about some of these. Am I taking this too personally. By the way she is 12, I do try my best for her and I do this on my own.

I have a DD who is 12 and she's always watching Youtube videos withdaft quizzes about "how to tell if you have a personality disorder" and similar.

It's probably a fad...DD (mine) is interested in all that...it's their age.

Don't think anything of it. Flowers

I'm going to say that if you are so stressed your daughter is doing that then maybe a visit to the Drs is needed.

And that's not criticism by the way. It's anything but. It's just that sometimes we're the last to actually realize we're not coping when times are hard.

💐 For you because you must be feeling awful that your girl did this.

Maybe you need some professional help with your moods and emotions? Your dd sounds unhappy and worried.

Thank you all for your messages, I thinks it's a combination of all three responses. Yes she does spend a lot of time on YouTube looking at various things Hmmand I have been very stressed lately. I intend to take sometime to think about it then will have a chat with her. Feeling a bit better this morning she apologised for in her words 'googling my emotions instead of just to talking to me' Flowers

If your 12 year old is that affected by your moods you should probably seek help from elsewhere. Poor girl

Why would you be hurt by it? Are you worried it's true at all?

A 12 year old knows how to wipe the search history, so this might have been her tentative way of wanting you to notice that something's wrong. Talking to you might have felt too difficult maybe?

If you're confident your mental health is fine, then maybe put it down to moody teenage behaviour. But if you think it's possible you've been extra-rubbish lately, or may have underlying MH issues, as well as talking to her, please do talk to your GP - it's so, so common and there are so many forms of help out there.
