Ex introducing baby to new partner to soon.

Hi all,

So me and my partner split around 2 months ago when he left for someone he'd been seeing at work, and since then he's been taking my little boy out once a week for the day. I didn't find out until last night that he's been going out with his new partner and my little boy and taking him to her student flat. I'm feeling very uncomfortable for this as I feel it's too soon and I feel like I can't trust him to take my little boy out anymore because I don't know where here's going to be and with who, If I tell him not to do it again, I feel like he will just be more secretive about it..I don't want it getting bitter so what can I do? Thankyou in advance

I know it must be painful and upsetting to not get to control this but as the father he has a right to decide who and when the baby sees someone as long as the baby is in no danger. Sorry you have to deal with this, it's a not nice aspect of parenting separately.

I had something similar when I split with my daughter's mother. She started seeing someone straight away (my dd was 18 months. I don't think they had an affair whilst we were still together, so she didn't know him well) and I felt it was way too soon. There was nothing I could do though, as much as it hurt to see my son around a guy (who was pretty questionable anyway) who instantly jumped into my 'Dad shoes', I just had to deal with it.

He should have discussed it with you first though. Just tell him he needs to be up front and honest.

I too had the exact same situation with my ex, dd was 10 months old, he left me for her and he too dd to see her within days of us splitting, in the space of a week I had to deal with becoming a single parent, loosing my home and loosing g my dd to another woman (that's how it felt at the time as all she wanted to do was play mommy to dd) it doesn't get easier as such but you have to learn to ignore it as it eats you up inside. - easier said than done and at times It has killed me !. I hope it gets better for you x
