New sibling for DS how to make sure he isn't excluded

Ex and I split up following DS 1st birthday he was an appalling to me during my pregnancy and not very hands on dad when DS was a baby. He eventfully left me for another woman spent a period of time drinking doing drugs etc. He met another woman whom he's married and they informed me they are having a baby. Me and DH have two DC whom DS loves. ( ex was pretty awful when I was having DD and said she was only half blood and not his full sister) I've congratulated them. I hope he will treat his DW better than he did with me but hoping my DS doesn't feel hurt that his dad had a second family with someone else. I've been positive about it even joke how expensive Christmas will be getting all his siblings presents anyone else I can do?

I don't think there's much you can do it's down to his dad. Aslong as they make time for him to and involve him in the babies day to day routine I'm sure he won't feel left out. Hope all gos well for you

I think all you can do is make him feel safe and secure at your end. Make sure he knows he is loved and that he has a sense of belonging. I'm sure you do anyway!

Family traditions and routines can help with that I think. And getting him involved with extra curricular stuff so he's busy.

Your ex is an arse. I would expect that to continue. He's likely to treat his DW the same way he treated you. Leopards rarely change their spots.
