That's it really. I have NO support, I have a demanding job and a 13 year old DS who it seems is ALWAYS poorly with something. He's currently off school with 3rd bout of tonsillitis in as many months. I have crippling anxiety especially where mine and my sons health is concerned so this exacerbates everything. I just wish I had someone here to make me a cup of tea and tell me all will be ok.

Can he have his tonsils out if he's getting ill that regularly?

Possibly? Haven't discussed that yet? It seems it's always something he's ill nearly every week! I'm fed up with folk saying how their husbands/parents/siblings help with this that and the other.......... I have nobody it's so hard and now I'm sounding really bitter I don't mean to I just need a rant!!

So my boy been sent home poorly again I'm finding it so hard to cope. He's off to his dad's this weekend as I have to work. On Wednesday when he needed me I was 3 hours late finishing it was awful when I needed to be at home. So fed up

Sorry to hear your son keeps getting ill, if that happened to me (God forbid) I would have nobody as I have no family support.

At least you have an ex whereas mine stopped staying with him a year ago.

Hopefully this nasty phase will pass and things will pick up again.

I agree we are rare in this world as most people have somebody in an emergency but you aren't alone. :)

Well if he's repeatedly getting tonsilitis I would speak to the doctor about having them removed. In another year's time he'll be in his first GCSE year (I assume?) and missing lots of school could be very detrimental to him, in addition to the strain its placing on you. A 13-year-old shouldn't keep getting ill like this. Has he seen the doctor recently?

Thanks both. I haven't spoken to the GP yet no but I think I will make an apt for the near future whether he's well or not just to get him checked. I feel he hasn't gotten over the first period of illness fully so his immunity not been great and he just keeps picking up bugs. He's healthy other than this. He's only year 8 so not starting GCSEs for another year. It's just so hard coping alone with EVERYTHING and trying to hold down a job which doesn't allow much flexibility. X

Yes saw OOH doc on Wednesday who checked him over, and his own GP checked him about a fortnight ago all ok other than tonsils.

Flower my ex is no support whatsoever it's just coincidence that he was having him this weekend anyway. I've asked him for help in the past and he's refused plus he lives 50 miles away so not local enough to pick him up from school or have him if I finish work late etc X

My ex has NEVER enabled me to hold down a job and lives over 100 miles away.

There aren't many handy exes about in my exp they exist but they are rare.

My ex will have DS when HE wants and will work around his schedule but will never help me but I've come to accept it. It's not easy but I have to accept it. I know a lot of male friends who are separated and are great dad's and put themselves out for their children so I know they exist I just wish I'd chosen better for my son lol.

I have texted DS today he says he is feeling better so hopefully the antibiotics will be kicking in xx
