Hi,

Anyone else spending christmas day on their own this year? with the kids I mean...

This year it will be just me and my two boys, it will be the first christmas that I have spent on my own and I'm looking foward to it in one way but in another way Im worried that I will start to feel 'lonely' by christmas evening...the last thing I want is to be depressed on christmas night, especially when there will be drink in the house.

But...I think I will be ok!

So, anyone else done it? or anyone else doing it this year?

I'll be on my own this Christmas, my DC are with their dad Christmas eve til Boxing day, my partner is having Christmas day with his children. I've opted to work night's Christmas eve & Christmas day, so I'll be sleeping during the day. I'm looking forward to the DC coming home Boxing day, we'll have our Christmas then.

I am looking forward to it for the first time, my boys will want to play board games and give lots of feed back. I also now can send them to the fridge,

happyatlast · 21/12/2006 09:16

I've done it every year since I became a mum so seven years basically, have two kids, and its really stressful trying to get toys out of the bloody boxes and undo battery covers, especially when one of your kids is a toddler and is trashing the place.

This year I am with my new dp who I have been seeing for 6 months, so he can wrestle with the bloody toys and battery covers!

JollyOldSaintNikkielas · 21/12/2006 21:39

My parents and grandparents all come to me so I'm not on my owntil the night, then I'm lonely

Thanks for all the replies, it makes me feel better to know that there are others in the same position, at this time of year all you ever seem to see are 2 parent families etc.

There is no denying that it IS nice to have that adult company on christmas day but it could be alot worse, at least I have the kids, some people don't even have that.

Anyway, I'm assuming/hoping I will have that 2.4 family set up again one day...only next time it will be a genuine, happy one!
