Has anyone taken this out? Made a claim or have a recommendation?

My solicitor advised me to take the insurance but it's not something I'm familiar with.

TIA

Is this in England?

Goodbetterbest · 01/01/2016 21:41

Yes it is.

Quick Google shows its like life insurance against the person paying the maintenance in case they fall ill or pass away.

I have been looking at Maintenance Assist but I think there may be other options. I've not heard of it before and wonder if it's a common thing?

Generally sensible though? If you're financially dependent on someone you take out life/critical illness insurance.

I think you can take out life insurance on pretty much anyone, without their permission or even knowledge. As long as you pay the premiums, doesnt matter if theyre ex or not.

I think there is a type of cover that covers redundancy too.
