hi, I am 43 with one ds who is 6. My ds asked me today who is dad is and I really don't know what to tell him. I feel so sorry for him not having a dad, especially because we are a really small family of just the two of us.

Did you have a nice Christmas? We had a good time, just the two of us. Hopefully 2015 will be a good year .

Hi there, I'm in London area but I'm in the same position. Two DDs, 6 & 10, no family in this country, very few friends. Few friends I have a gone this time a year, wouldn't even have money to go out as I need a lot of work done on house. Normally I'm fine with it but this time of year makes it so depressing as there is so much emphasis on getting cosy with friends or family and going out. It's hard isn't it? Have had a lot of ups and downs last few days, didn't help that I was ill for a while too. I know I'll feel better in myself once spring starts. But at the moment going back to work next week sounds great. Do you work at all? I do feel this helps me a lot. Childcare arrangements can suck but I've been doing it for 3 years now and battling through it ??. But just having someone to share the daily grind with would be great....
