On hold to tax credit helpline

Seriously underestimated income for the year and now feel sick. I'm lucky that I have some savings but it'll make a massive dent in them. Normally I overestimate my income to allow for overtime but this year the overtime went on for longer and they're given me an extra day's work a week.

Being in hold is killing me.......

24 mins on hold and I'm shaking.

And people can't understand WHY I want to work full time and minimise the amount I receive. This stupid to feel this way but so bloody beholdent to the government - I hate it....

Ok - turns out massive overpayment to me is not massive to TC's.

Don't ever want to go through that again .....

So what was the outcome? Its a horrible feeling having to call such places!

JeanSeberg · 19/12/2014 18:53

How much?

The lady on the helpline said I was in the buffer zone - never knew they had one - and payment for this year would stand with no overpayment. I gave her what I estimate will be next years wage (which will be a bit lower than this year) and the drop isn't as bad as I thought it would be - still get mas CTC but loose most of WTC. I's underestimated by nearly £4k......Shock.

When I finally got through she was lovely (I'd got myself stupidly worked up)
