New CSA charges, with abusive XP's? Anyone worried or had it kick off yet?

AFAIK the CSA have started sending out letters closing current CSA cases and asking parents to set up private agreements.

I won't be able to do this because XP was abusive and we have had no contact for over 5yrs (no phone number and I don't know where he lives although he knows our address). So I want to go straight to the new CSA with charges, ideally all taken from my payment so he doesn't see any increase.

Is anyone else in the same boat and basically shitting themselves about it. XP is going to be livid about paying moew and blame me .

Are you on a deduction of earnings order then?

I don't know where my exh lives and he doesn't know where I live, no contact whatsoever, so we will have no choice but to go with the new service and pay for it. AFAIK though, those on deduction of earnings orders will be the last to be moved over though, so not til 2016 or even 2017 apparently.

Unless you ex is in having the money taken from his wages he will have the right to make a private agreement the CSA will pass your details into him account number sort code or even PayPal if your worried open up a new account with your bank just for the payments

Private agreements are pointless with abusive XP's anyway (we tried it a few years ago and he stopped when he got pissed off). CSA is the only way to go for us.

I hope the CSA don't pass my details on to him, that never occurred to me. I'll have to speak to them about that. I need to speak to womens aid too don't I.

They will only pass you details if you say so

But be aware he can apply to do private agreement if its taken from his bank it will be up to the CSA to say weather he can or not if he does and then misses a payment you just phone the CSA up and then ask for the CSA to to take it but its likey they will give him a chance to pay the arrears I don't know how many chances he will have though this is why I said get a new account just for the payments so its easy to check

This whole thing has been keeping me awake at night for years since they announced it. I'm going to cross my fingers that a miracle happens and he lets it all go through the CSA again . He was always one for a quiet life so maybe he'll prefer to keep the CSA going and not have to do anything else .

Even if he pays you directly (Direct Pay), it's still classed as a CMS claim rather than a Family Based Arrangement. There are no charges for Direct Pay, he doesn't need to contact you about anything, it all goes through the CMS.
If he has a history of missing payments or the CMS deem it necessary then they will put him on Collect & Pay - that's where the charges come in and he will see an increase. You can't and shouldn't be paying his portion of the increase.
