Changes in relationship as daughter becomes teen

Hi My daughter has turned 13, and in the last couple of years she has been drawing away from me. I understand this is a process, but was not prepared for how hard it feels. As a photographer, I am dealing with the turmoil by trying to represent it photographically. However I would also love to find out how other single mums feel especially if they have a daughter. I can't find much written about it in terms of the rollercoaster of emotions for both mum and daughter during this period. Thanks for any response :)

I remember very well how I felt... hated my parents and everyone around me. Now my DD1 is nearly 13 I can forgive her almost anything as those feelings I know are just transitory. Not to belittle them and not to indulge them either....
