Just that really. If you or ex (both with PR) take DC away (in UK OR abroad) do you provide full contact details in advance. If not, have you had to justify to anyone not providing details. Thanks.

No.

Have mentioned if we are going away for a few days or longer abroad, but other than that no.

IneedAwittierNickname · 30/09/2014 13:15

Nope. He's never asked me to. If he did I wouldn't have a problem telling him.

Last time he took the dc away I knewthe name of the place they stayed which is odd as he won't even tell me where he lives!

I tell ex if I'm going away and where to but not addresses or anything formal like that. If we travel away I do let him know we hot there safely as if/when shoe is on other foot I'd want to know

InaPuckle · 30/09/2014 23:43

I usually tell ex if we are going abroad. Sometimes I write a formal consent letter for him to sign and sometimes for short trips I forget to even mention it. He has not contact arrangement in place and doesn't normally phone nor inform DC if he leaves the country. I like to let him know so if he fancied engaging with DC he could ask about the trips but he never does.

elastamum · 30/09/2014 23:47

Yes, we both do this out of politeness and so if either one of us had a problem travelling overseas whilst with our DC the other could step in and help out.

We had a contact person in between, at least when I began dating. It started because of some work scheduling issues messing up our handoff, so he had to get them from or take them to my friends house a few times and he had their phone number and address. Then it morphed into, "I am away, but X can contact me if you need me."

He had remarried a week after the divorce was final, i assume if anything happened when they didnt have them, that I would need to be told, they would have managed.

youmakemydreams · 01/10/2014 00:19

I let them know if we are away and may be difficult to contact but he doesn't ask for details but have no reason not to if he did.
He tells me where they are going or actually where they went the only time he has taken them. He also have formal consent letter as did I for my parents taking them abroad.

No. We both have mobile phones which work abroad too so would be able to get in touch if we needed. Only time ex has taken DCs abroad they were camping and hadn't pre booked anywhere so there'd have been nothing he could have given me.

No, he's only informed if DS is away on an access day. He has my usual contact details eg email but other than that I don't give him anything.
