Our dd turns three tmw and so her wonderful pa has stopped paying maintenance....direct debit just didn't enter account today. I was going to use the cash to pay for DD's party and present. I cannot contact him as after her first birthday he called the police to say he didn't want contact. At the time he was living across the road with his new gf. In some ways I am shocked that given his behaviour (ignoring us both in the street since before her birth) he has even been bothered to pay his earth shatteringly huge sum of £25.00 a week.
Should I walk away with my head held high and find some other way of drumming up the missing cash...obviously being single mum not currently rolling in cash or do I go down the route of CSA or whatever it is now called. His most recent GF has two kids who live in and he has 2 older children who he does support and see. He is self employed and his ex ex ex helps him cook his books. At the moment despite poverty and debt I prefer the option of walking away.
