Telling tales

Anyone else's kids tell tales between parents?
I tend to switch off me and ignore it but the ex can't. Ive just ensured a tyrant of abuse via email "ds1 said this, I'm not having it blah blah blah" I'm sick of it so today I bit back "well ds2 says he tired of sleepin out all the time"
I tried to explain that kids tell the other parent what they think they want to hear but he's not having it.

Happens almost every time my DDs see their dad. Sometimes he hasn't even driven out of the street and I get a text about how I treat my girls. Unfortunately my DDs struggle to get any attention from their dad so using me as a whipping boy is a good way of engaging him. They've even admitted this. It's a horrible situation, I feel particularly close to my girls now that their dad has left and it hurts me so badly that they choose all my worst bits to tell him but never the good stuff. Absolutely sucks.

Ahhh! I never even thought of that. I don't tend to take much notice, they're kids and what they repeat can get twisted and misinterpreted anyway, he actually takes it seriously and believes it all!
