Does he have a brother? Weddings are pants I feel like I have to justify myself. Feck that.
Big hugs and solidarity x

DiaDuit · 15/08/2014 10:42

Does who have a brother? The man i'm going to meet at the post office? I just hope he exists himself, never mind a brother Grin

Yes, weddings = "so are you seeing anyone?"

"No, no i'm not "

OP, can we travel in a pack and tackle that man you seek - and surely he MUST exist!! - whilst he is out with the rest of his like-minded and equally single rugby team? Pretty please.....???

LineRunner · 15/08/2014 10:56

And then you meet The Lovely Man who is kind to children and animals and he still can't come the wedding with you because he's not invited as he's 'just a boyfriend'.

DiaDuit · 15/08/2014 11:12

YES! he is in a rugby team. you're right. Grin

line the person I was sitting beside at this week's wedding was a guest of a relative of the bride. they had been dating 3 months! the same with a couple at another table. I didn't even get a 'and guest' on my invite Sad I've been seeing my hairdresser for years, she would have loved that wedding Grin

Three months! That's practically a DP on some threads here.

CaptainCorellisVentolin · 15/08/2014 12:04

I did get a "plus guest" invite to the last wedding I went to and took my rather flamboyant, ever so camp, best friend.
As he was throwing a few nifty shapes on the dancefloor whilst making eyes at the bride's single and ever so camp brother, an elderly lady at my table leaned in and asked in that benign, conspiratorally manner "so dear, how long have you and that handsome young man been an item then?"
I drowned my sorrows into large Martini's the rest of the night and tried to flick the olives i to the elderly lady's bouffant Hmm

LineRunner · 15/08/2014 12:16

I've never had a 'plus guest' invitation for a wedding.

Well, there was one. But it was withdrawn at the last minute when the bride's mother found out I wasn't married to the plus one. I think she originated from a regency costume drama.

I have given up going to weddings now.

kinkyfuckery · 15/08/2014 12:41

I don't get +1's very often now either Sad

I did to a wedding last year, so took my best friend Grin However, her husband came in the evening so I was left out again Sad

You are all cheering me right up! A plus one who brought her husband! Reminds me of a big bang episode where stuart asks penny to a wedding and she says only if she can bring leonard!

LineRunner · 15/08/2014 14:37

The plus one bringing their partner is not really in the spirit of the thing, is it?

DiaDuit · 15/08/2014 14:46

Not really, no! Grin
