Circumstances are such that H and I need to separate, at least for the foreseeable future.
I cant say we will NEVER reunite but I think it is highly unlikely or I wouldn't be separating.
We have a joint mortgage, but I wont stay in the house as it is unsuitable for my health needs (mobility issues and its a 4 floor house).
We are going to put it up for sale.
I have been told I can claim HB for me and my kids (2 of) and we have 'up to a year to sell it' under the LA rules.
What if it doesn't sell?

does anyone know? I have asked the benefits office but either they don't know or wont tell me.
I will be living approx. 50m from exH.
I am happy for him to see kids every weekend and stay over as he wont be able to transport them that distance.
Is that okay?
Scared of signing lease (need HB to pay for) and then finding I cant get HB or I am breaking some sort of rule and will have to pay it all back?
