Is SW avoiding me?

Last saw SW around 4 weeks ago at CIN meeting, she arranged to meet ex there and then for a weeks time, said she'd call me. Since then I've heard nothing, I call weekly and I've emailed a few times keeping her up to date and asking her to call me back, still nothing. Starting to wonder if she avoiding me.

Might be off sick?

Maybe contact her team manager?

Shes in, shes either, with a clinet, not at her desk, just nipped out.....I considered the team manager but I dont want her thinking Im complaining about her.

Hi, have you spoken to SW yet? Sounds a bit like you are being avoided, although im sure its just a case of priorties in overworked teams.

Next time you call and sw not available, ask to speak to duty worker. You dont have to complain if you dont want to, but you have a right to speak to someone especially if things are changing (and what ever stays the same in life?!)
Duty worker might struggle to give you update, but they should be able to access your case file and most likely give their colleague a little nudge. Failing that I would contact manager for stage 1 complaint. Good luck x

Thanks, Im just going to leave it. I really like her and dont want to complain, I appreciate shes really busy and sometimes when your at a low point and panicking you just "expect" them to be on hand to advise you. I think Im expecting too much. I just want to stick to the rules and I guess I shouldnt look to her for guidance, I need to make my own desicions.

Hi, whatever you feel comfortable with, however I really dont think you are expecting too much. Social workers are paid to work with people through some difficult times and difficult decisions. Being approachable is all part of that.

Ive tried again today "shes not in right now". I asked to speak to a duty sw and they told me no, they said I had to speak with who was dealing with our case. I told her Ive been trying to get in touch for a good few weeks now to no avail and she just took my number and said she would pass it on. Im actually a bit worried now. Surely this isnt the norm?
