Ex got a job after a year of unemployment, in May. I've been on my arse financially, getting closer & closer to having to make 'drastic' decisions to stay afloat if he hadn't got his job. I've not even had a proper maintenance payment (£95 over 3 mths) and today he's told me he's not passed his probationary period. So it's back to bare arse budgeting for the foreseeable future Sad

That is so frustrating :( It's even more annoying because it must have got your hopes up a little bit and now it's been snatched away again. I hope he gets off his bum and finds another job soon.

Knob. What was so difficult for him?

Thanks. I've no idea why he failed, it's the 2nd time it's happened (he changed jobs last year then lasted only 6 wks in the new one after he made a mistake in his probationary period). This was a good job too, not min wage and really good prospects. I'm really gutted, I think cos I felt I was finally getting some help with DD. Her uniform for starting school is going to exceed the amount I got in maintenance so I'm not even breaking even. It just sucks.

It sounds so frustrating especially now he's done it twice and with a job with good prospects. It's such a let down because now you'll be on your guard if he even gets another chance with another job.
