Grandparents ignored my dd today gutted for her

My dd is 2.5. Today her grandparents drove past us slowly approx 1.5m away staring at us but didn't even wave at dd who was excitedly shouting at them to see them. I was pointing at them saying look there's so and so and stopped waiting for them to talk to my dd only to find them driving straight past.

They definitely saw us. There's no get out clause here. They hate me. I don't know why, their son left me for someone else but they haven't been in touch once to see how I am and haven't helped me at all.

Am I being unreasonable that they should at least have waved to my dd?

It saddens me they are like this because dd loves them and was asking me for an hour after where they were and could we see them and were they coming to our house. :-(

Oh, it is awful that they would do that to you, but especially to your DD. In my opinion you are not unreasonable, I would feel exactly the same. It's a shame they are like that, as they are missing out on their beautiful GD. It must be tough for you having to explain to your DD why they didn't wave back. They clearly have their reasons, whether those reasons are fair and justifiable I think is unclear. I feel sorry for you having to deal with this. Can you call them to ask why they failed to respond by waving back? Would it make things worse?

What utter shits.
Your poor DD deserves so much better than having relatives like that.

That's sad but happens a lot, maybe ring and say how hurt she was. Hope they realise what they are missing out on.
