moving house

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, so please bear with me.
Since splitting from my husband last year, I've met someone else and have been recently talking about moving to a town 20 minutes drive away from where we currently are. My children see their dad on a regular basis and it seems to suit both sides. where we'd be moving to is only 25 mins from their dad, which is no further than now, just in another direction, so they could keep the visitation agreement. Anyway, my question is this: How did anyone who has been in a similar situation handle the changing of schools and clubs?

Hi, I don't have any direct experience but didn't want to leave this any longer unanswered!

When I moved DS's school last year, I spoke to the new school, had a look around and then moved him. He started the following Monday.

With regard to clubs, you can ask at the new school and Google. There seems to be a cubs/beavers/rainbows/brownies in most places.
