What do do? ?I want Dad?

My ds (2 ?) spends every other weekend and the interim Friday with his father (as well as the occasional week here and there). However he has just started saying that he wants his Dad. My question is: is this either a. A normal phase and another storm I have to weather, or. The fact that his father is ?fun time Frankie? whilst I am the feeding, clothing, boundary setting, potty training witch from hell, or c. a legitimate request for more time with his father???? For the record his father has recently said that he enjoys the fact that he gets to do all the fun stuff and I am welcome to the normal childcare stuff, although I am sure this was maybe half truth and half bravado. Your thoughts please? I won?t beable to log back in til Sunday, so I am not ignoring you all!

Hi Nellie - thanks for that. Its difficult isn't it, and it does cut to the bone a bit when he said it, especially when I spend so much time playing and having fun with him too. But I am prepared that more of this is to come, and also willing for ds to spend more time with his father if that is right for him. (a year a go would have been a different matter, but can see things clearer now!) I can put my ds's needs first now, but it is still so hard. I will monitor the next few weeks and see how things go (he only did it the first time on Friday) if it continues I will consider speaking to his father.......oooooooooh ggggggggod......
