Single parent internet dating?

Has anyone tried these single parent websites? How different are they to 'normal' ones?
I'm feeling in the mood to get out there again and thinking I might try this as maybe finding a single dad would have something in common.
Anyone know any good and possible free sites? Had a browse but not officially signed up yet.

I just went with a normal one. Lots of people on the main ones (Match, DatingDirect etc) have children. I preferred this method of dating so I could be straight about who I was and what I wanted upfront. Couldn't be bothered with being chatted up in a bar and then having to say "oh btw I have children" and he does a runner..!

I went with DatingDirect and it was free for me to message guys. They also pool with the match.com site which is the one my now-fiancé was on. You get weasels on all the sites - just take your time :)

I'd be wary of sites that advertise as being for single parents (or any other smaller pool of people). They're often part of a group of sites and you might find your details popping up on their other sites. You need to be wary about including too many details about your children when dating online. There are people out there who target single parents to gain access to their children. I'm always horrified by profiles I see where the children's ages and gender are listed. People just don't think.

Thing I wonder about dating another single parent is synching up childfree times. Maybe its easier if you have babysitters to hand.

I looked but just found the pool very small.

I went on POF - moves very quickly but lots of people on it and it is free. You put if you have children (no ages or anything, just yes/no) and can select search criteria so you can just search for only people with kids if you want to. It certainly makes things easier in terms of understanding each others lives if the guy has kids, I think.
