Frustration

Me and ex have been split up for nearly a year...up until Christmas we were getting on great he even came up and helped me and ds do the Christmas decs which was lovely then all of a sudden he went cold and started treating me like a bit of shit on his shoe....

Anyway we have an arrangement that he has ds every other weekend fri night to Sunday lunch time

So next weekend was his weekend to have him and he's just messaged me saying he has to work _ which I think is a lie he puts his social life before his son...and I'm so sick of it!

He then has the cheek to text me asking if I bought a particular issue up at nursery

So on the one hand he has opted out of parental responsibility but he thinks he can still hold me to account

Exactly the same here. Parenting advice off someone who often goes two or three weeks without seeing him!

I would distance myself from him if he is going to treat you like crap, protect yourself by keeping him at arms length. Don't have him over. Get on with your life and he can get on with his, you only have to have anything to do with each other occasionaly.

The joys if being able to opt in and out of being a parent.

Exs contact is court ordered. Yet if he and OW get a better offer, they will try and cancel contact at the drop of a hat. I've now learned to respond to any texts informing me that contact will not be happening with ' Please let me know what plans you have made for childcare in lieu of you caring for the children' They have no friends or family to ask and so far the cancelled contacts have always gone ahead.

I don't think I will ever get court ordered contact - it's just upsetting that he doesn't want to see his son. I think he thinks he's doing me a favour when he has our child - it's not about me it's about our little boy
I just wish he could see that
