Out of curiosity I wondered if you remain living near your child's dad?

To be honest I regret moving now. At the time it was the right thing to do and we have a good life here but it would be better all round if we were closer.

I think it would give me more time to myself and it would be nice to share some of the responsibilities but we can't move back there now.

If ex had a relationship with DS I never would have moved however.

I moved 200 miles because I needed a fresh start and to live somewhere I actually like. Lots of gains for me and the kids, but I lost the convenience and ease of him picking the kids up from school a couple of nights and free days at the weekend and exchanged it for spending every school holiday on the motorway so they could see their dad. Worth it tho!

He moved 3hrs away to be with his parents (aka the OW). Sees dd every few weeks. Not having him on the doorstep works for me even though I have very little downtime.

Only drawback is ILs continual whinging about me seeing more of dd than them even though it was their ds's decision to break the family up and move bacck to their area. ILs seem to think that I should give up my stable employment and move close to them. Bearing in mind that they only want to see her when they have nothing else on and dd is happy and settled in school here they can jog on.
