How to let off steam...

I've had a difficult week this week as I have given up smoking (am on day 9) whilst also dealing with the everyday stresses of work and being a single parent.

I've been going for runs and do exercise DVDs at home. I have not been able to meet up with any of my friends due to various things - they've been unwell, are on holiday etc. I have no one to off load too.

I feel this week I have been losing the plot slightly. I don't have anyone to offload to in RL. The exercising has helped a little bit. I've been doing a lot of ranting and raving at home (out loud Shock Blush). I have no one to off load too. I just think being very shouty at everything is not very nice for my DD. (Btw I have not been shouting at my DD, I've just been shouting on my own).

Feel a bit nutty as I hope my neighbours can't hear me. What is a better way to offload?

hey... exercising is such a great way to get release and your getting fit as well. i wish i could get motivation to do a bit more of it.... i used to love it but now really struggle with getting motivated!

some more ideas are... maybe try journaling some of your thoughts down? sometimes when they are down on paper it gets them out of your head and you can understand how you feel a bit better.

if you really want someone to talk to how about phoning the samaritans or another helpline? you don't have to be severely depressed or anything to use the helplines - i have phoned many many times just to have someone listen and it has really helped - just until you can meet up with your friends again

also make sure to get out of the house.

also plan loads of things to do so you aren't bored even in the house such as baking or art or whatever floats your boat :)
