Wow! Good for you! Where are you going for your date?

jellyjelly · 23/07/2006 08:36

I dont know yet, know when it is but not what time or where yet. Ideas, not sure if he is thinking dinner or drinks. We text yesterday and he text me at 2/3 this morning and then this morning as well.

Oh he sounds keen! Where did you meet him?

jellyjelly · 23/07/2006 08:40

when looney and i went out on Friday, very nice. He was so polite and i said 'lets get a drink' i was going to buy but he insisted. Not used to manners after so long without then.

Good luck, I can imagine it will be nerve wracking, but I am sure after the first few minutes you will be more relaxed and enjoy yourself.

If you went out on Friday night and he phoned the next day, he does sound very keen, so you obviously made a very good impression.

Have fun.

Lemmingswife · 23/07/2006 08:46

Excellent! He sounds like a nice bloke.
What kind of ideas were you after?
Not sure I will be able to help much, as it has been a very long time since I have been out on a date, but someone who has more of an idea may be along soon!
Hope all goes well for you.

jellyjelly · 23/07/2006 08:52

I want to just have a good time btu thought that dinner could be a bit stuffy for a 2nd date. He checked to see if we got back ok from the taxi and he asked if i had any problems with certain things, which i didnt. Was nice.

I know how nerve wracking this can be. I was married for 13 years (together for 16 years) when me and my ex-h split up and when I got asked out on a date in similar circumstances to you I was absolutely terrified, but I needn't have been. We just went to a quiet pub for a drink and chatted like we had known each other for years cos we were in similar situations, both divorced, both lone parents. We got on so well he is now my dh and we have been together for 7 years and married for 4 years and I am happier than I have ever been.

The dating game is very daunting when you have been with the same partner for a long time, but just go and enjoy it.

Good luck.

He does seem keen which is nice as i say what i feel and it seems he does as well but so scared about putting myself out there again. He did also seem to be honest which my x never was so very odd.

Congratulations!
When are you going out?

jellyjelly · 23/07/2006 19:47

Wednesday, Am really looking forward to it now, not sure what to wear though. I want to go and buy more clothes as i have lost alot of weight and things are to big now. Have a few of my older but newer clothes that i could wear but need more undies now. Dont know if i should go casual or smart i know it depends on where we go (i havent been to town for a long long time so dont know the bars now) but trying to plan it now and getting butterflies everytime i think of him.
