Can you still get a slot for pick up rather than delivery?

Any family / friends that could watch for an hour so you nip out?

Worse case scenario (please don't flame me anyone) could you put in buggy with rain cover on?

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 22/12/2013 09:05

Tesco online

Monetbyhimself · 22/12/2013 09:34
Sad

Crap.

RegainingUnconsciousness · 22/12/2013 09:42

Yy to online. Who actually goes to a supermarket any more?!

NorthernLebkuchen · 22/12/2013 09:48

I doubt you'll get an online delivery slot. What about click and collect though? That would be ok. CP is infectious through being in close contact. In theory if you're in an emptyish supermarket, you move quickly and keep a rain cover on then the risk to others is going to be minimal BUT what supermarket is empty at this time of year? Plus a christmas food shop isn't exactly quick is it?

You need to find a babysitter. How old is he? Is he old enough to sit in the car with a mobile phone and you keep in touch with him?

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 22/12/2013 11:06

Thanks everyone, I live in the country and haven't passed my driving test so it's impossible (I haven't passed because I keep having to cancel my lessons because he keeps getting ill!). Going by bus takes hours and hours, no-one can sit with him half a day at this time of year. And there is no delivery/click and collect service here.

I've ordered from the butcher and don't want to flake out on him. I'm trying to find a friend to collect, even if they put it in their freezer.

We have food, we won't starve, it just won't be Christmassy. Sad

Ask the butcher if he can help?

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 22/12/2013 11:22

Yeah I will phone him if I can't get anyone to collect for me. We are 20 miles away up a little track so he's not going to be passing!

poopooheadwillyfatface · 22/12/2013 11:27

what area are you in roughly? anyone who's children have already had c pox might be willing to look after him for a bit?

GirlWithTheDirtyShirt · 22/12/2013 11:32

Could you order a taxi to collect the stuff from the butcher?

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 22/12/2013 11:34

I really can't ask. It is deepest darkest countryside, there are only a couple of buses a day, no shops in walking distance. If I could drive it would be different, I could drop him off or ask someone to sit in the car with him.

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 22/12/2013 11:35

70 quid for a taxi there and back, GirlWithTheDirtyShirt.

DontmindifIdo · 22/12/2013 11:35

oh, taxi is a good plan! Phone the mini cab companies, see if any will do this and call the butcher to see if they are happy to take payment over the phone and put in taxi.

DontmindifIdo · 22/12/2013 11:42

sorry, X post with the price, could you just get the butchers to put it in a cab so only pay half? Also see if they would deliver, they might given the circumstances, worth calling them to find out...

missmapp · 22/12/2013 11:46

Are you sure it is cp? I thought ds2 had cp loads of times before he actually did- he just got a viral rash ALOT !!

SomePeopleNeedHelp · 22/12/2013 11:54

It's only a chicken and a few bits as there is just two of us, I'm hoping a friend will be able to get it for us.

Yeah he gets viral rash too, I have had false alarms too. But it is proper blisters and it has been going around his nursery.

queenofthepirates · 22/12/2013 13:42

sillymillyb · 22/12/2013 15:02
