New Year, New Me!

I'm a regular on here but sometimes change my name to keep it fresh. Now the new me will be making an appearance very soon in RL. Abusive relationship previously, also from a dysfunctional family originally so making (or trying to make) a brand new start now that that's all history. Help me keep my chin up and let's club together here anyone who's also looking to make their lives more positive, fruitful and fun in the New Year. What are your plans?
2014 is definitely going to be a 'me' year and my little ones will reap the rewards too! :-D

A bit early for New Years resolutions perhaps?

I don't normally subscribe to all the New Years resolutions stuff but I have to say this year can't end soon enough!
So here's hoping its a new year new me too!

I embarked upon the New me program last January. For me it involved joining a choir to make new friends - last week I sang at Kensington Palace.

Reach for the sky, you never know what might happen. Good luckThanks.

That is inspiring Lonecat!

D'ya hear that Yummy? There's some hope!

Hi Snoopy, Good for you for choosing positivity after a difficult background (I can relate). I also want to banish negativity and horrible people and plan for a happy properous future so where do I sign? I plan to exercise and watch my weight, make my home into my little palace, give the kids a good life with lots of happy memories, and resurrect my career! Also turn over a stone and find a spare £6,000 to do a masters and kiss a frog who turns into a prince would be nice but then I will just feel greedy ;)

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 04/12/2013 08:53

Yes I have started studying to go back to my career choice and my New Years wish is that this will be a success, that my children and I will be healthy with not too many days off sick this winter and that I will be able to host a few cute Christmas gettogethers and have some great nights out so that I can kick start my social life. There's also someone I have a beady eye on so if that comes to anything, that is on my list for the New Year fairies too ;-)

And yes Lizzie memories. Memories for the kids are more important than presents.

It's so important now that I move on and that I learn to give myself a pat on the back every now and again (I'm really hard on myself!)

Memories don't need tidying up either Grin.

I'm in. Moving house (got buyer who's happy to wait, just need the house!), NVQ at work, third OU module at home, paed referral for DD in motion, DS has SATS which I need to work on with him and it'll be my 40th and I want my abs back!

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 04/12/2013 11:06

Well I (very proud of myself) have just bought a tiny 2014 year planner to keep in my bag at all times. The day planner on my iPhone just doesn't work for me. I think this will work better and help me plan fun things in advance! :-)

snoopy I bought a reduced filofax (a real one!) the other day. I'd been after one for years but couldn't justify one at full price. I feel like a yuppie Grin. i need to start filling it in really.

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 05/12/2013 11:27

Yes it's all about filling the Filofaxes! With hot dates, fun nights, fun days with kids and friends, holidays and starting to live again!

Planning is my weakness. Often I don't know what Im doing from one minute to the next so am going to be more decisive in 2014.

niceupthedance · 05/12/2013 13:03

I did this in 2013.
I lost 24lbs
Moved house to be closer to my friends and social life
Went on a few dates and got myself a FWB
Changed Uni course to something I really wanted to do
Loads of other stuff

Life is good Smile

I also recommend reading stuff about the law of attraction. It might be guff but what have you got to lose? Wink

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 05/12/2013 21:38

Ok so tell us more about the law of attraction Dance :-)

I pledge to do more with my time when DS is with his dad. I've got into the habit of cleaning ans catching up tv. Im skint so I've used that as an excuse but I need to be more proactive about seeing friends or even just going for a walk.

lemmingcurd · 05/12/2013 22:59

Count me in! Everything that lizzie said upthread

niceupthedance · 06/12/2013 11:30

Snoopy it is basically retraining your brain to think positively, to be grateful for what you have and expect good things to happen for you.

They wrap it up in a lot of shizz about frequency and vibrations, but the basic premise is happy people attract happiness into their life, people who worry attract more worry etc. Easier said than done I know, but even small things like listing three things you are grateful for each day helps to think more positively. I have The Power ebook and listen to it while I'm cleaning to give me a shove back in the right direction Smile

NewBeginningsSnoopy · 06/12/2013 12:54

So if I work hard on thinking I'm sexy, this will attract a sexy man into my life? Oh good
