feeling really low today

dd has gone with her dad and I won't see her until Tuesday. she goes alternate weekends and has been for a year now but today feel especially low
got lots on is weekend socially but really miss her. she's been at school all day and saw her briefly before she went off.

she is only 5. just went shopping (friend's birthday tomorrow).
been going alternate weekends for ages now but just really really miss her.
I could text him but don't want to be accused of encroaching on their time. and he would be correct
need to get a grip.

Can you use the time to do things especially for her?

Sort her bedroom, make a photo album up of all her lovely baby photos, or do some meal planning for the week. (Not so fun!)

Maybe find things to do that at the weekend you usually find yourself doing in the week, then you will have extra time with her.

Or make it your time to have a bubble bath, do your nails ect. So you are recharged!

No you don't need to get a grip. Its unnatural for us to be separated from our children against our wishes. Of course it is best for the children (in most circumstances) to spend time with both parents but that does not make it any easier to separate from them. It is not our choice. She must miss you too. But you are doing the right thing. I just hope it gets easier for you. I struggle when my children are with their dad too x
