Ds1 is 2, ds2 is 4 days old....luckily have a supportive partner...I am shattered, exhausted and feel unable to cope. Massive hats off to you all lone parents out there, I honestly don't know how you do it, massive achievement.

Thank you, Haddock.

congratulations! Grin

you're making me broody the thought of a squishy 4 day old!

we just have to get on with it. i was living with my mum when ds1 was born so had help but exp left when ds2 was 11 days old so was only lonesome with him and a four year old. i was a bit apprehensive at first but i just kept getting up and taking ds to school and patted myself on the back for achieving anything beyond that Grin

I am seriously in awe. I can't cope and there are two of us, and the tought of dh going back to work after pat leave scares me, let alone what you all do everyday. I was raised by a single mum, I guess it's only really now that I fully appreciate how hard it must've been.

Hats off to you all.

if im very honest i am often in awe of people who can live successfully with another adult day in-day out! Grin i don't think i'm compatible with cohabitation at all! it's not easy!! - or maybe I've just been doing it with the wrong person? Hmm Grin

You need to talk to,your hv get some support if you feel you cannot cope. You could and would cope if you became a single parent.

But if you feel you cannot cope as it is then speak to your hv . and get some help form family and friends as well as h.

Most single parents are not completely alone they sometimes have more dependable help like family friends and frankly
Life was easier when I left exp with 3 dc as he was so needy

And remember haddock it is early days and things will get better :) take it day by day get as much rest as you can get family and friends to help with ds etc while you focus on baby.

Oh, I'd like a 4 day old. They don't trash the house and have naps Smile.

We just get on with it, it's a huge struggle and not much fun but we're all fed and in clean clothes.
