My ex Left 6 months ago and has seen our ds twice since. The last time being in April. Since then he has said we are the biggest mistake he has ever made and wants to gorget we ever happened. Therefore im not getting him anything for Fathers Day from ds.

Is there anyone in similar positions and not getting anything or am i being unreasonable?

trinityrhino · 15/06/2006 20:29

you are being perfectly reasonable Smile
not in a similar situation so I'm gonna be trying to get footprints of our 14 month old in paint without painting the entire house Grin

Aimsmum · 15/06/2006 20:29

I will get something for my xp, mainly because DD wants to, she wants to get him an orange tie....but we'll see Grin

He does see her weekly thoght.

In your position I don't think I would get anything either, unless your DS was really keen to. I don't think you are being unreasonable at all. Smile

My dh moved out on Saturday but I will get him something because he has always been a fantastic father and I think he will continue to be so.

Flum · 15/06/2006 20:32

when is fathers day?

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 15/06/2006 21:03

I think its sunday

tortoise · 15/06/2006 21:13

\link{http://www.kidsdomain.com/craft/handprnt.html\going to do these with dd1 and dd2}for their dad.I cant think of anything else to get him and im skint!

Caligula · 15/06/2006 21:13

I'm not unless my DS wants to. I somehow don't think he will though. It was his birthday a couple of weeks ago and he didn't get a card. He made a father's day card in school for my brother.

lucylocket80 · 15/06/2006 21:23

I'm not getting him anything from them.

Mine is a complicated story that would constitute a thread hijack I think!

I (we)left him in January 2005. We lived overseas but are both Brit cits. He has seen our two DDs only once and that was April last year.

He doesn't phone, write or send any money. He's also tried to diddle me (and therefore us) out of a large sum of money with reference to a house in the UK we jointly owned. We were homeless for 8 months before the council found us a home...he wasn't concerned about this at all.

We hadn't parted on good terms but neither had there been any mud-slinging that might stop him from contacting. He just doesn't care.

My older DD (5) couldn't give a rats, she has bad memories of him. My youngest DD (2) doesn't even know he exists. It seems best to keep it that way until he decides he wants to see them again...half hoping he won't but know I shouldn't think like that.

Very tempting to send something nasty in the post to him, Wink, but have sworn to myself that I will not give in to these foolish impulses that try to take me over every now and then. Might make him think that I care!

I think you are right not to get him anything but then I think (hope)I'm right too!

spursmum · 15/06/2006 21:35

Im not getting the fcking useless cnt anything.Angry
I haven't seen or heard from him in 3 years so why should I bother? MY ds wouldn't know who he is anyway.
Im going to remove myself from this thread before I start ranting.

sanchpanch · 15/06/2006 21:37

been split for nearly 1 year, i am just sending a card, becuse dont feel i should get him a present, he picks and choses how much money he thinks is reasonable to give me, so i am not willing to spend my hard earnt cash on him!! plus i was 30 last week and he didnt do me a crd from the girls........

iPodthereforiPoor · 15/06/2006 21:41

Despite the demands from XP, he's getting nothing. He didn't do mothers day, and he won't tell me where he lives, so no, he's getting nothing!

Hasn't seen the woo in ages, and hasn't managed to make one visit as agreed by solicitors since February.

It will be upto woo when he's old enough if he wants me to help him do anything.

aaronsmummy · 15/06/2006 21:49

Well my husband will get nothing apart from whatever the kids make at school/nursery. We are still together although things are strained between us. Long story - 3 kids 7, 3 and 1, 3 year old is autistic and he is bloody useless with all of them. He is a downright bully with me. I got nothing on Mothers Day so unless the kids ask there is no chance. He willprobably spend the weekend on the golf course anyway - as usual.

rickman · 15/06/2006 21:53

Exp will get whatever the kids do at school but I won't be buying him anything. I don't get anything on Mothers Day. You can guarantee that his mum will go out and buy a card though and make a huge fuss about it. He doesn't bloody deserve one, useless twunt!!

Loobie · 16/06/2006 08:36

lucylocket you sound a bit like myself,i have 3 kikds and when we first split ex was great with the kids, better than what he had ever been while we were together, then he moved down south met a new women and from then on our kids come way down the line,ex had no contact at all with the kids from last june till just 3 mths ago becuase of his treatment oif them, the kids were stable again so 3 mths ago i contacted him to sort thing out.
Things get sorted he comes to see the kids sets up a contact agreement but gets back together with the girlfriend and 3 weeks on dumps the kids again!! So livid is an understatement.
So fathers day ???? i was tempted to send him a sympathy card for the loss of his children?? what do you all think LOL

crazychilledmummy · 16/06/2006 11:04

Nope. Definitely not. My DS is 8 months old and ex has seen him once in 3 months. Its his first fathers day as a dad so have the odd twinge of guilt but he's been such an uncaring s**t towards DS I don't think he deserves it and DS won't understand anyway. When DS is older and if he wants to that'll be different. Juicychops, are you really considering you might be being unreasonable???!!!! If he really said that he deserves something but certainly not a fathers day present.

happysinglemum · 16/06/2006 22:08

NOPE!!! He left when I was two months preg and this will be his first father's day. I think only dads should get gifts for father's day, not men who've merely been present at conception!!!

Still X-hubby lives with his mum, so she'll probably get him something Angry

UNFORTUNATELY [WINK] I seemed to have arranged to go away this weekend.... hell hath no fury....

mistressmiggins · 18/06/2006 10:56

we went to Brush n Bisquet a month ago and DS decorated a mug
made a card this morning with the kids for him

means nothing from me but the world for them - H seemed touched by it

Turquoise · 18/06/2006 11:51

The kids made him a card, and dd saw a suduku handset thing in Asda yesterday which she begged me to buy for him (£5.99) so I did. He's just opened them, been dismissive about the cards, said "Oh no batteries and it looks broken anyway" about the soduku. Not a word of thanks obviously. Arse.
Of course I got FA on mother's day (presentwise) - kids made me lovely cards that mean the world.

fattiemumma · 18/06/2006 23:08

im trying my hardest to irradicate him from tehir lives and as they havent mentioned him for the last 4 weeks i have certainly not reminded them.

monkeytrousers · 18/06/2006 23:12

Me. he didn't even know it was fathers day. He gets enough lovin 24-7

wabbitt · 19/06/2006 00:02

I didn't get exP anything - he phoned fishing for a 'happy fathers day'

He didn't get one!

Not fit to be called a Father - shagged his ex whilst I was PG and got her PG Shock then she lost it but got PG by him again just around the day I had ds Shock Shock

So he's a wanker and I'm just so proud I don't feel any tender emotions for him anymore Smile

lou33 · 19/06/2006 00:04

nothing from here either, not that i know exactly where he is right now, or when he is back in the uk again

wabbitt · 19/06/2006 00:05
