Hi, I'm about 9 months separated, living on my own with 2 kids aged 9/10. We've moved from our village into a new one 3 miles away.
Both my kids are quite insular, like to play with eah ther, aren't ones o ask for friends around. My fiends from baby days have drifted off as we are all working, and don't see at the school gates as dc have after school and breakfast club.
I have every other weekend off and one night in the week. I'm just finding I waste this time.
I really want to meet single people locally, I've looked on fb for groups but can't find any. I like sport, but can't commit regularly to teams.and the stuff I want to join is on nights when I have the kids or they are doing footy training or cubs., eg- women's running group, or skyride bike rides.
I just feel a bit lonely and in need of some local friends.

Hi ! It's good that you know when you will have your free time - that allows you to plan and then look forward to something special and just for you on those days !! Now that's something to be thankful for !!!

Is there a 'mumsnet local' that you can post on ?! Maybe find some like minded people to hang out with ?!?
I'm in Dorset ... It's great in that there's lots to do as it's set up for holiday makers - but us locals get to benefit too ! What's good about where you live ? Beautiful walks ? Rugged coastline ? Anything that floats your boat locally ?!?! That might be. Good place to start !

I hope things are on the up. Make sure you get out of the house when you don't have the kids. Or get (or borrow) a dog! You always meet people when you have a dog. Plus dogs are good company. Good luck!
