Day 3 in this new chapter of single parenthood. Very much enjoying not being pregnant. However:

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

And for the first time in a long time, I miss STBXH.

Sad

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congratulations on your newborn :) do you have any help and support from friends and family?

FennCara · 03/08/2013 21:39

Thank you Smile I do, they're good and they live close. All a bit of a shock to the system.

I bet! Sounds like a tough situation, definitely call on them as much as possible. Is Ex around at all?

FennCara · 04/08/2013 12:18

The older two see him every weekend, unless he has found something pretty to play with during the week Angry He's got no interest in the baby.

[Sad] ugh he sounds like a real charmer! Don't miss him, it might not feel like it right now but you're all better off. I hope you're managing to enjoy your beautiful new baby. Be kind to yourself

know what that feels like... at one point i had a 3 year old, 18 month old and a newborn... theyre now 7,5 and 4.
itll get easier... ive got them all in full time school next month- i remember thinking thats aaages away Grin

TheBakeryQueen · 04/08/2013 16:38

Yep it's certainly a challenge! I had a 4yr old, 2yr old & a newborn while single (still am). It's a year on now, and honestly, without the negativity and crap of a poor relationship, I have enjoyed my last baby so much Smile

It's knackering, physically demanding & a huge test of one's patience (which at times I have lacked) but I've survived!Grin

Mothers are strong! You can do it. Lower the standards, prioritise your time & try and just enjoy it as much as possible.

Thank you Smile. I am really enjoying the baby, so much better than when ex was around. He sucks the joy out of anything and everything.

Relieved to know it gets better.

Glad you're enjoying the new baby Smile

You cant get better than a snuggly gorgeous newborn.

It goes so fast too.

num3onway · 11/08/2013 21:41

Thought I'd say hello as I'm newly single with a 4 month old, 4 and 5 year old!

FennCara · 11/08/2013 22:51

Thanks & hi everyone. It's nice (if that doesn't sound wrong) to know I'm not alone. I live in very cosy suburbia & I'm starting to feel quite lost in the nuclear families and manicured lawns. I have no idea how I ended up here, nearly divorced, in charge of three small children. I was still living the student life five years ago. I have no idea what happened. Confused
