Can we set up a weekend activity group?

I know this will be very dependant on people being local to each other, but thought it was worth a shot!
I'd like to get together with other singles and our kids to do something on weekends; trips to the beach, walks in woods, bike hire or even trips to somewhere different like Peppa Pig World or whatever.
Would be nice to see some single dad's on here too - can't just be us mums wanting to go out in groups and meet new parents!
I'll start by saying I am in East Kent and DD will be 2 this weekend. Anyone else around here?

Oh what a great idea, weekends can be very difficult as lone parents.

Sadly, I'm in France so I think I'll still be spending my weekends just me and the DCs, but hopefully some more of you can get together in the UK.

This would be fab if we can get it off the ground - I am in Northumberland.

I get the feeling we are all going to be spread about the country!

East kent here too, a great idea! Even during the school holidays too?

Lioninthesun · 03/08/2013 14:08

OK so we are indeed all over!
How is everyone set for next weekend? Perhaps we could post something local that we can get to and want to see and then see who else wants to join?

This is fairly near me www.broadstairsfolkweek.org.uk/ so if anyone wants to come we could try to find our way around pub gardens with live bands or a shandy on the beach perhaps and there are usually some morris dancers for a giggle and a few folky stalls along the beach front.

I'm in Kent as well, been a single parent four years and have a six year old and five year old. Happy to meet up - lucky that my children go to their dads for an overnight every weekend but I can come alone if it clashes and no one minds :-)

constance4 · 03/08/2013 22:19

This sounds like a great idea, I have been looking for a meet up group near me, however there does not seem to be one :( I am in Sutton area if anyone is around?

GalaxyAddict · 03/08/2013 22:32
