Feeling bad for me time?

I am a single mum of one (2.5). My daughter does not stay with her dad. I work fulltime and like all mums out there sometimes I need time to breath. bub goes to stay with her Nana every 3~4 Weeks for a night. I feel bad for wanting a night off. and one of my family members scrutinizes me for it. Thoughts?

Never ever feel bad about need time for yourself. You're a busy person and can only be effective at what you do if you are well in yourself. Of course you need a break; whether it's to have a long bath and a decent night's sleep with a lie in, or go out for a night of drinking and dancing.

When I split up with my ex my biggest fear was putting myself first, but if you're not looking after your own needs occasionally, you're not going to be able to look after everyone else's.

Agree with poppa.
Time for yourself is so important. Don't let anyone make you feel bad.

Thankyou for the replies. Good to see I'm not alone. Its hard to enjoy me time when certain persons are making me feel guilt though.

Does the person who gives you a hard time have to know when you're having a break?

I thought as much (the no children bit I mean). I know it's difficult to ignore the comments, but as long as you know and accept that you are absolutely entitled to a break then please, please don't feel bad.
