My son is away at summer school for two weeks as of today. Really missing him, and also coming to terms that he'll be gone full time in September when he goes to uni.
I'm incredibly proud of him, an kept it together and didn't show him any tears, but I'm dreading him going to uni Hmm

Sad Sorry you're feeling like that. Has he been away from home before for any length of time? Will you be on you own once he's off at uni? Will he be far away?

Maybe you could look at this as the beginning of something positive for you . Take up a new hobby, focus on yourself and enjoy the space :)

Thank you. The longest he's been away before is for a week on a school trip. I have a dd who's 7 weeks old so won't be alone. He'll be going to a London uni, so won't be too far away. It will just be so lonely and strange without him. I'll miss him so much.

Well a hulking great 18 year old would certainly take up more space than a 7 week old! (congratulations by the way Smile )

Of course you'll miss him, it's perfectly natural, and he's bound to miss you too. I'm sure he'll be back in no time with piles of laundry and requests for a decent meal Smile
