I am a LP to 2 dc's 10 & 17 months... Dc1 sees her Dad but dc2 doesn't (his choice).. We are moving from a fairly large town on the outskirts of London to a small rural village (is only 4 miles from town though)! I have friends living in the village but wondered if anyone has done a similar move & can give me any tips!!

There is a baby & toddler group weekly in the village & a pub that I would feel fine going to on my own.

Thank you Smile

I live extremely rurally, so some of this may not apply, but:

Always keep a full tank of fuel and know where the petrol stations are and their open hours

Find your local shops and open hours for emergency provisions.

Keep cupboards well stocked in case of really lousy weather

Check how long it takes to get to a and e and where it is.

Remember you will travel more by car, unless good local bus or train service.

Go to children's centres, local play groups etc. to meet other parents.

Don't share anything too personal too easily, village gossip really does exist! It's very hard to be anonymous.
