Parental responsibity

How difficult would it be for my partner to get parental responsibility for my children?
I am in the process of divorcing their dad and he has very little to do with their day to day lives. I think he would oppose the idea but just wondered if anyone has any experience if this?

Why do you feel your partner needs PR? I have been a stepmum for 10 years and can honestly say I've never needed PR for anything.

Thank you. It's seems more trouble than its worth then. Especially as you don't appear to need it for anything!
