If you know where your ex is working do you still try to get Child Maintenance?

Or have you given up?

I've just phoned the CSA again, 3 years after the last case was closed. I won't hold my breath....!

I opened a case from birth but the CSA couldn't find him despite me providing his national Insurance number. They phoned me after 3 years to say they weren't bothering to look anymore so I closed the case.
I phoned again last year (because I had heard the CSA would be charging us to use the service in 2013) and they found him!

I don't get the money from the first 3 years either so it's worth keeping it open and giving them a ring one or twice a year.

Oh I see, well I don't know what happened last time because the CSA closed the case. They established where he was working and told me so but then all of a sudden I got a call to say that they had closed the case because he wasn't on any payroll (must have been getting cash in hand?). Now I know that he is working in the UK again, I think it is worth a try at least.

So do you get some money now chickenliver?

LOL... yep turns out they could find him because he's on benefits so I get ...£5 a week!

As I've never had it to depend on I don't use it, I just save it. It's going to be a party fund that DS can blow when he's 18 and say cheers to a Dad he's never met.(He'll keep his proper savings from me/relatives for something useful).

Good idea!
