Lone parents

Use our Single Parent forum to speak to other parents raising a child alone.

this might seem like a weird question but what kind of phone do single parents have these days?

I'm taking the bullet and going to a lone parents group. However, i'm just wondering in your experience what the age group is of most people there? I'm a 35 year old lone parent and I don't want to seem like a total grandma of the group.
I'm really paranoid that when I whip out my phone to exchange contact details everyone's going to have iphones and make me feel paranoid about my razr! What are your experiences of these lone parent groups?

You'd get a better response about the phone thing if you asked in chat about age and mobile phones, I think. Lone parents aren't an alien species who use different phones to the coupled off people Grin

I would try not to worry, yeah easier to try not to breathe I know but try Smile

You'll find a whole lot of different people but one thing I have found is that people at loan parent groups don't judge other people the way parents do at some other parent and child groups. Its very rare for a loan parent to be rolling in money so what phone you have and where you went on holiday are far less of an issue.

Good luck Smile

Phone for single parents? You are overthinking this. Don't worry. Really don't.

I agree with freeman. LP's are probably less judgy than most. We're all too busy trying to juggle everything.

Are you going to a Gingerbread group? We don't have one round my way.

Do people really judge others on phones?

You're worry too much, wini! :) Did you mean 'biting the bullet' by any chance? 'Taking the bullet' means sacrificing yourself I think... I know these sorts of groups are scary, but even soooooo...! Grin
