So today I cooked me and dc my very first BBQ. It involved no fire engines or trips to hospital ;). Tasted good too dc said better than daddies as I didn't get stressed.
Feeling quite proud of myself right now and just wanted to share :) x

Ha! I did the same a few weekends ago - never done one before but decided it couldnt be difficult if a man can do it ;)

Was lovely no stress and just fun - waiting for some more nice weather so we can do it again.

I built the BBQ and was really proud of my work , unfortunately the BBQ never got hot so I ended up putting it under the grill!! I blame the charcoal but suspect it was me so well done !! Share tips please!!

Overtheraenbow - it always takes longer to get hot than you think, and you don't put the food on when it's burning but when the flames have died down and the charcoal is glowing. I'veused a hairdryer to speed it up before now.

Yeah you have to light it about an hour before you want to start cooking.

xp always wanted to to be the bbq person, but quite frankly was totally crap at it, got stressed and stroppy it was a flipping emotional mess every time.

How hard can it be? Actually, very easy and not stressful at all. I bbq all the time in the Summer with DD, even do extended bbq with family (although i am anal now and dont like people touching MY BBQ)

Well done you. I just cooked out first BBQ last Bank Holiday weekend. What can I say, it was sunny, a long weekend and as an Aussie a BBQ is a must so I bought one of those 3 quid disposable BBQs at the local Co-op and it was so so delish. We can't wait to do it again.
Great achievement when you do something out of the ordinary isn't it?
